When combined therapy for hypertension is performed, preference is given to drugs containing 2 antihypertensive agents in one pill. A combination of the calcium antagonist amlodipine besylate and the diuretic indapamide, which are presented as monodrugs on the Russian pharmaceutical market, is considered rational. To design a novel combined antihypertensive drug containing amlodipine besylate and indapamide, the investigators studied the compatibility of active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients. The main products and ways of degradation of the active ingredients were determined. The substances were not established to interact with each other. The excipients and technological process conditions, which allow a stable combined medication to be obtained, are recommended.
