Black chokeberries (Aronia melanocarpa) have spasmolytic, antihypertensive, and antioxidative effects. They contain anthocyans that ensure the coloring of raw materials, which gives rise to certain difficulties during microscopic analysis. A procedure to prepare black chokeberries to be microscopically analyzed has been developed. Multiple water reprocessing of raw materials promotes the most complete removal of anthocyans from an analyzed object and further wetting in chloral hydrate solution for 24 hours gives a clear idea of the anatomical and diagnostic signs without their damage. The procedure has been tested when analyzing fresh, dried, and frozen berries.
