PROMISING DIRECTIONS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF PHARMACY BUSINESS’S SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Introduction. Socially responsible business makes its activities not only in favor of self-development and profit-making, but also participates in solving social problems of both its company and society. Objective: to determine promising directions in the development of pharmacy business’s social responsibility. Material and methods. Electronic resources of Saint Petersburg large-scale pharmacy chains were used as an information base. The investigation used cognitive research methods, including theoretical research (analysis, synthesis) and deductive approaches, as well as logical, structural, and graphical methods. Results. The paper provides a brief historical review of the formation of business’s social responsibility in Russia. It shows the goals of pharmacy business. The author identifies prerequisites for development of the social responsibility of pharmacy organizations and shows their voluntary practical initiatives. Methodological approaches to the strategy for managing the social responsibility of pharmacies have been elaborated. Conclusion. The promising directions in the development of pharmacy business’s social responsibility have been determined. Social responsibility as a competitive advantage has been proposed to be introduced into the organizational management of pharmacy organizations.
