The investigation of the chemical and amino acid composition of alkaline-treated equine skin collagen and the physicochemical properties of its derived acetous solutions showed their identity with the much used solutions of alkaline-treated bovine skin collagen. The findings suggest that equine skin collagen may be used as an adjuvant and may replace bovine skin collagen in the technology of collagen preparations and medical products.
