The appearance of the corms of dragon arum (Arisaema consanguineum Schott.) growing in Vietnam was studied and described. Their anatomical and diagnostic signs were identified using histochemical tests and biometric characteristics. Dragon arum raw material was found to contain polysaccharides, saponins, and flavonoids. A thin-layer chromatographic assay revealed that the raw material contained 5 flavonoid substances, including shaftoside, and 4 substances that can be referred to as saponins, including escin.
