The paper gives the results of examination of the particle size of 23 metered-dose xylometazoline hydrochloride nasal sprays of different trade names by blinker shadow photography. According to the disperse composition, all the sprays were differentiated into low- and moderate-disperse ones. Spray droplets in the test drugs were distributed by particle sizes; their distribution range was found to be from 5 to 150 μm. 15-to-30-μm droplets were shown to be a major fraction in all sprays.
