Biopharmacy occupies a special place in a set of pharmaceutical subjects. The knowledge gained over decades of biopharmaceutical investigations is now a basis for designing and manufacturing effective and safe medications. Main areas for biopharmaceutical investigations have been identified. The subject “Biopharmacy” included in the curriculum of students of pharmacy faculties and universities will be able to more completely reveal the significance of a dosage form, its ingredients, and production technology to achieve the therapeutic effectiveness of drugs, by equipping with new knowledge presently needed for professional activity at all drug circulation steps. A model program for teaching the subject to the students of higher pharmacy education institutions is given.
