The value of raw medicinal plant material is determined by both the content of organic substances that directly show their biological activity and the ability to accumulate inorganic compounds, including metals. A new combined procedure has been developed to determine elements by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry and electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry in the solutions prepared by acidic decomposition of raw medicinal plant material during microwave heating. The main metrological characteristics of the raw material were estimated. The efficiency of the developed procedure was confirmed analyzing the industrial samples of 7 raw material species.
