NEED FOR ANTIBIOTICS FOR THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH DESTRUCTIVE PANCREATITIS: ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION

Introduction. The use of antibiotics to treat destructive pancreatitis is a key cause of microbial resistance that entails the excessive expenditure of funds and impacts on a reduction in the effectiveness of health programs. Objective: to determine the optimal needs for antibiotics (ceftazidime, metronidazole, ciprofloxacin, cefazolin, and tienam) for inpatients with destructive pancreatitis. Material and methods. ABC/XYZ analysis of an assortment, correlation and regression analysis, ATC/DDD methodology, and analytical linear trend alignment were used in the investigation. Results. The investigators presented a short-term prediction of the needs for drugs to treat patients with destructive pancreatitis. There was a downward trend in the demand for ceftazidime, metronidazole, ciprofloxacin, and cefazolin and an upward trend in that for tienam. Conclusion. A methodical approach was elaborated to analyze and predict the needs for antibiotics to treat patients with destructive pancreatitis.
