Introduction. Black cumin (Nigella sativa L.) oil showing a wide spectrum of pharmacological actions is widely used in folk medicine. Standardization of fatty oil in the seeds of black cumin growing in Uzbekistan calls for investigations of its chemical composition. Objective: to determine the level of phosphatidylcholine and α-tocopherol in the black cumin oil obtained from Uzbek raw materials. Material and methods. The investigation object was the fatty oil from black cumin seeds, which had been prepared by cold pressing. Phosphatidylcholine and α-tocopherol were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography. Results and discussion. Procedures were developed to identify and quantify phosphatidylcholine and α-tocopherol in black cumin oil, which averaged 0.159 and 0.110%, respectively. Conclusion. The fatty oil obtained from the seeds of black cumin grown in Uzbekistan was shown to contain phosphatidylcholine and α-tocopherol. Their quantitative content was estimated.
