Introduction. Currently, any fairly common disease in a child is frequently treated with drugs intended for an adult, but in a smaller dose, which often results in ineffective therapy and pathology. Objective: to conduct a sociological study of the provision of children with drugs in Moscow. Material and methods. The object of the investigation included 312 sociological survey questionnaires for intermediate and final consumers of medications for children. Its methods involved content analysis and sociological and graphical studies. Results. The paper gives the results of the sociological survey of pediatricians, pharmacy specialists, and parents of children under 18 years of age regarding the problem associated with drug provision in pediatric practice. The respondents have recognized that the most important indicator of drugs is their efficacy. The survey of the consumers has shown the high level of confidence in the advice and recommendations of pediatricians and pharmacists. The problems especially frequently faced by parents are identified. Conclusion. There is evidence that it is necessary to develop the commercial manufacture of children’s formulations and drugs in appropriate dosages.
