DETERMINATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICANTS IN PLANT RAW MATERIAL AND ITS BASED OIL EXTRACTS

The content of toxic agents in pharmaceutical plant oils and old extracts are not standardized now. There is no information on that environmental toxicants may migrate into oil extracts from medicinal plant raw material. Residual pesticides and radionuclide have been determined in stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) leaves and sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) fruits, as well as in their based oil extracts. The samples lack organochlorine pesticides, as evidenced by investigations. The results of tests for the radionuclides Cs-137 and Sr-90 suggest that the samples absolutely meet the criterion for radiation safety.
