The paper analyzes the range of mineral and chemical raw materi-als used to prepare homeopathic substances according to the foreign pharmacopeias (in Germany, the USA, India, and the EU) and the normative docu-ments of manufacturers. It shows a broad range of natural and chemical sub-stances used in homeopathy and main pharmaceutical methods for processing the raw materials to manufacture substances. There are discrepancies in the chemical composition of substances having the similar names, as well as dif-ferences in manufacturing methods for individual substances. Approaches to controlling the quality of this raw material in different countries are analyzed. The paper formulates basic specifications for standardizing the raw materials of mineral and chemical origin in the Russian Federation.
