DISTANCE LEARNING USED TO OPTIMIZE TEACHING BOTANY AT THE EXTRAMURAL FACULTY

The paper shows how an educational process for the discipline Botany is managed for students trained in the specialty of Pharmacy at the extramural faculty of the Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy, by applying the traditional form of education. It considers the experience in optimizing the study of a course of botany, by using remote technologies. The distance learning system makes it possible to more uniformly distribute an educational load throughout the academic year, to ensure an effective interaction between students and teachers and a student’s independent work in learning the study material, and to provide a possibility of constantly monitoring the knowledge acquired by the students. Analysis of botany exam results showed the efficiency of distant learning that in combination with traditional learning promotes an increase in students’ knowledge level.
