Introduction. Telecommunication channels are a trusted source of pharmaceutical information for consumers and specialists. However, remote consultations over the phone and the Internet have accompanying negative manifestations along with their benefits. A variety of remote communication channels and their widespread require that new methods for the efficient management of data and the formalization and standardization of the process be developed. Objective: to elaborate typical consulting scenarios for remotely transmitting information on the rational use of medicines. Material and methods. When developing a consulting scenario algorithm, the authors used the three-stage approach to ensuring the rationality of pharmacotherapy, which had been proposed by the World Health Organization, as well as a process approach and logical modeling. Results. At Stage 1, a typical consulting scenario was elaborated to ensure the rational choice of a drug. At Stage 2, the scenario was proposed to provide information on the rules of the safe use of drugs; and at Stage 3, the typical consulting scenario was offered to ensure that medicines are available. The elaborated scenario was used by the telephone pharmaceutical consulting center in Yerevan, causing the number of the consultees who were very satisfied to be as high as 93%. Conclusion. The proposed consultation algorithm used to promote the rational choice, safe use, and availability of medicines could improve recipients’ satisfaction with the quality of remote pharmaceutical care.
